External Equality Impact Assessments: Completion and Scrutinty
Overview:
McKenzie work with a number of our partner organisations, across a wide range of sectors, to ensure that Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs) are: (i) correctly and comprehensively produced, (ii) are completely fit for purpose and (iii) capable of passing both external and regulatory scrutiny.
We fully guarantee all of our work in respect of legal and technical accuracy.

How Does it Work ?
McKenzie can work with you in one of two ways (or both) to provide either external quality assurance on previously completed EqIAs or create new Assessments.
Here are the options:
1: You supply us with an existing organisational policy, programme strategy etc and we will complete a comprehensive EqIA ‘from scratch’ i.e. without making use of, or relying upon, any previous work undertaken within your organisation. Our completed EqIAs are typically 15-20 pages in length and adhere to our own Model of Technical Excellence / Scrutiny model (shown below).
2: You supply us with both an existing policy/strategy etc and an existing EqIA completed within your organisation. Upon receipt, we will undertake a comprehensive external quality assurance review on the existing EqIA – both appending our comments / recommendations and advising on necessary deletions or technical inaccuracies within the existing EqIA document.
In both cases, we will add our external quality assurance kitemark to all EqIAs published or reviewed by ourselves. We will also ensure that all EqIAs are completed using documentation and methodology approved by The Equality and Human Rights Commission England and Wales.

Qualifications and Expertise:
McKenzie will appoint a small internal EqIA review panel to scrutinise all EqIAs completed on your behalf. This will be led by Mike Burnitt – Senior Partner McKenzie LLP. Mike has extensive experience (over 20 years) of EqIA completion.
