The majority of public sector audits, performed for example, by Ofsted or the Equality and Human Rights Commission include Equality and Diversity as a 'Key Line of Enquiry'. This will typically require you, as an organisation, to demonstrate, using measurable evidence and outcomes, how you manage and promote equality and diversity both internally as an employer and in the provision of your services or facilities.
An audit will also normally include an inspection of the action you have taken to meet the statutory duty to positively promote equality and part of the Equality Act Public Sector Duty 2011.
