As the profile of the working population of Britain continues to evolve, understanding, demonstrating and embracing equality and diversity as part of the recruitment process is no longer an option for organisations - it is both a reality and a necessity. Recruitment is one of the most notorious areas for claims of discrimination or disadvantage and many of the claims are directly related to how interviewers chose to behave during the recruitment and selection process. In addition to the legislative considerations, many 21st century recruiters need to learn how to recruit people from diverse groups to meet their ongoing resource requirements.
